ISBN: 978-0982573501

Undercover DEA Agent Darius Kramer received an assignment to infiltrate, expose and take down the deadliest and most elusive drug family in New York City. The job requires his expertise, strategic moves, and no mistakes. But the DEA is not aware of one critical piece of information: its agent is the pawn in a lethal strategic game, where making mistakes is the only certainty. Closing the case is a race against time; every opponent’s move could mean death and each of Darius’ moves could cost him his life.

Deadly Instincts is fantastic!!! It is a gripping, fast-paced novel that is part crime story, part mystery, part love story and all around engrossing. Rarely has a book drawn me in so quickly. The graphic realism of the dialogue painted a brutish, but realistic view of life on the mean streets of NYC.

I just finished your book this morning. It has everything: action sex, romance and intrigue. Seriously, can't wait for the next book and the movie. Your description of the characters was so vivid I am only imagining who will be cast. I just listened to the video clip. That part was one of my favorite parts of the book. Quel, you have reminded me why I have always loved reading.

A good read that I have recommended to others. Though set in the United States of America, the author, in a timely way, keeps island home Jamaica in the minds of the reader, in a positive-place-of-tranquility- escape-destination manner, which could pique the interest of a never before visitor. Well researched and detailed in a way that makes the reader look back to ensure full understanding of the duplicitous roles of some characters. Darius should be brought out of ‘retirement’ to feature in several future novels. I think Deadly Instincts will make a good movie and I’m awaiting the next Racquel Brown Gaston best seller.

Deadly Instincts' is a sterling novel against the backdrop of modern reality. Unlike other novels where there is a jaundiced presentation of gory facts, this novel wines and dines us, seducing us with the wine of subtlety. It is quite refreshing! In reading the book, one comes to terms with various themes as greed, revenge, fear and love all of which interlocks and overlaps with nuanced meanings. Flipping the pages reminds one of movie scenes with a well painted story line.

I’m not usually a fiction reader but I read this book in two sittings. I took it everywhere I went so that I could steal moments to complete a chapter or a scene. It pained me to go to bed that first night but I had to be up early for work this next day. The following night I devoured it. The twists and turns from out of left field had anyone around me while reading it irreverently inquiring what it was that had me exclaiming in genuine shock, horror, and LMAOs. The rhythm held me and the imagery transported me. Absolutely gripping from start to finish and a definite must read!
